I am a Registered Nutritional Therapist. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of current, evidence based nutrition principles, to empower you to take control of your own wellbeing. Through simple diet and lifestyle changes we can all improve our health allowing us to enjoy life to the full.
I was inspired to study Nutritional Therapy after personally experiencing just how effective it can be. I had experienced poor health and IBS all my life until I decided to do my own research. After a year or so of dietary changes and supplementation I began to feel better than I had in decades. I had more energy, I was happier and had no more digestive pain and discomfort. It was indeed life-changing. I now maintain a healthy but not in any way restrictive diet. I studied Nutritional Therapy so that I could help other people recover their health through natural means.
Qualifications and further study
I completed a four-year diploma in Nutritional Therapy in 2010, with the UK College of Nutrition and Health, BCNH, a college well known for its high quality, evidence-based education. I keep up with current research and regularly attend seminars and courses to increase my knowledge and to satisfy Continued Professional Development requirements.
In 2015 I attended seminars on the low FODMAP diet, The Healthy Heart Summit and Nutrigenomics in Sport.
In 2014 a definite highlight was listening to the Gluten Summit in which leading-edge research on the myriad effects of gluten and how to test for these was presented by experts from the Functional Medicine community.
In 2013 I attended the Institute for Functional Medicine 'Advanced Practice Module in Restoring Gastrointestinal Equilibrium'. During this four day conference practical applications for understanding, assessing and resolving gut dysfunction were presented by doctors and nutritionists each having a wealth of experience in their own area of expertise.
I am a member of BANT, the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy, which is the professional body for Nutritional Therapists in the UK, and I abide strictly by its Code of Professional Practice. I am registered with CNHC (Complementary and Natural Health Council) the UK regulator for complementary health.
